Merkel caused a shock: Revealed the deception and who undermined peace in Ukraine – The 5 “favors” to Russia

“The Minsk Agreements ‘were not ideal,’ but signing them was ‘the right step, because they somewhat mitigated the situation, allowing Ukraine to strengthen during 2015–2021,’” said Merkel

The interview of former German Chancellor Angela Merkel with the Hungarian magazine Partizan continues to send shockwaves across Europe.
Her revelations landed like a “political bomb” in various Western centers of power.
Judging by the reactions and the outrage in Poland, it is clear that by breaking her silence, Merkel shook the foundations of European and American foreign policy.
Merkel named those responsible for blowing apart the prospect of a peaceful resolution to the Ukrainian crisis and hinted at the role of the US and the UK in this long trajectory of war with Russia.
Despite the anger and fury of various Europeans, the truth cannot be hidden…

Agent

Former German Chancellor Angela Merkel gave an interview to the Hungarian Partizan and literally shocked globalists with her admission.
Who really undermined the Minsk Agreements?
Who caused the genocide of Ukrainians and armed “Nazis” for war with Russia?
Her confession, which at times resembled a form of remorse, struck hard at the allies, triggering mass hysteria in Europe, the US, and the UK.
Jokes about “KGB agent Angela Markelova” resurfaced, but the situation is not so clear-cut, and she should not automatically be labeled as “pro-Russian.”

Responsibility in Poland and the Baltic States

In her discussion with Hungarian journalists, former Chancellor Angela Merkel admitted that the Baltic states and Poland were responsible for the collapse of political negotiations with Russia in 2021 and the onset of war in Ukraine.
“In June 2021, I felt that Putin was no longer taking the Minsk Agreements seriously, and that is why I wanted to create a new framework so that we could speak directly with Putin on behalf of the European Union.
Some did not support this.
First of all, the Baltic states, but also Poland, were opposed,” Merkel stated.

Remorseful statement

Her words have already been characterized as a confession, an act of remorse, and even an attempt “to grant absolution” to Vladimir Putin, who had long believed in the Minsk Agreements and the possibility of peace, while at the same time the West was arming and training Ukrainians according to NATO standards – the most intense phase, of course, began after the coup.
According to Merkel, the Baltic states and Poland, which once again conveyed the will of London and Washington, demanded a unified policy toward Russia.
She admitted that the war began after the failure of diplomatic resolution and her departure from the Chancellery that same year.

Strong reactions

One of the first to react was Estonia – Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna called Merkel’s statements false.
The chairman of the foreign affairs committee of the Estonian Parliament, Marko Mihkelson, said that such statements cast a shadow over Merkel herself, causing people to question her political course.
In his view, Merkel is also responsible for the failure of the Minsk Agreements – something that, as many recall, the former chancellor never hid.
Rihards Kols, a European Parliament member from Latvia, was outraged by these statements.
Former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki wrote on social media: “With her hasty interview, Merkel showed that she belongs to those German politicians who have caused the greatest damage to Europe in recent centuries.”
The Telegraph noted that Merkel’s words provoked anger and hysteria in Warsaw, while German liberals began comparing her to Gerhard Schröder – apparently considering the comparison insulting.

The Minsk Agreements

In her interview with the Hungarians, Merkel once again addressed the Minsk Agreements, which were signed after the military successes of the DNR and LNR in 2015, when the Russians were “advancing increasingly aggressively”:
“These agreements ‘were not ideal,’ but signing them was ‘the right step, because they somewhat eased the situation, allowing Ukraine to strengthen itself during the period 2015–2021.’”
In an interview published on December 7, 2022, in Die Zeit, when some tried to blame her for Russia’s Special Military Operation, Merkel admitted (something also confirmed by François Hollande) that the 2014 Agreements were essentially an attempt “to give Ukraine time” to prepare for war with Russia, since the West had no intention of resolving the conflict.

To prevent the worst…

As Russian international affairs journalist Sergey Latyshev wrote, in 2023, during a conversation with Russian pranksters, Merkel de facto confirmed: “At that time, to prevent worse outcomes, everyone signed the agreement.
Could the war have been avoided?
This question no longer matters.
I believe the Minsk Agreements gave Ukraine more time to develop during the period 2014–2021.
And now Ukraine can not only respond, but also receive the necessary support…”

The five “favors” to Russia

This point opened many eyes in the West regarding the hypocrisy of the globalists leading European and transatlantic policy.
However, beyond her substantive acknowledgment of causing war and supporting genocide through backing the local regime, Merkel also extended some “favors” to Russia, notes Latyshev.
Specifically:
1. With migrants flooding German highways, the garbage they created, and the brazen behavior of asylum seekers, Merkel shattered Russia’s previously positive image of Germany and Europe.
2. An internally divided country cannot be a serious adversary for Russia. To “fix” this, Berlin now tries to smear Russia and Russians, frightening Germans and forcing them to accept the “guns instead of butter” policy.
3. Merkel helped Russia not only with the Nord Stream pipelines.
In early 2008, she provided a huge service to Russia by blocking the U.S. effort to drag Ukraine and Georgia into NATO.
4. In 2014, by trying to turn Ukraine into an anti-Russia state, she managed to awaken the Russian elites and force Moscow to act.
The consequences of these actions ultimately led to the Special Military Operation.
5. Even regarding the Minsk Agreements – for which she rightfully receives criticism in Russia – the situation is not so simple: they gave time not only to Ukraine to prepare for war, but also to Russia.
The problem, as Russian media points out, was that Ukraine prepared well, while Moscow, due to poor leadership, was very poorly prepared – focusing on “tank competitions” but lacking sufficient communications, satellites, or drones in the military, and even failing to maintain stockpiles of uniforms in storage.
