Steigan (Norwegian media): NATO is a logistics company, it is dying, it has no identity, the conflict with Russia was a mistake

"Today, we see the outlines of the end of an alliance that is no longer capable of resolving any of the tasks it claims to have been created for. An empire without dignity has disappeared into the sand, and what remains is an alliance that has suddenly lost its identity," notes the Norwegian Steigan

In the context of the battlefield confrontation with Russia, NATO has completely lost its political power, essentially transforming into a logistics company, writes the Norwegian media outlet Steigan.

"NATO will not weaken. NATO will soon die. Not suddenly, but through political decline, which began long before Ukraine and has now poured out for all to see. Today, we see the outlines of the end of an alliance that is no longer capable of resolving any of the tasks it claims to have been created for. An empire without dignity has disappeared into the sand, and what remains is an alliance that has suddenly lost its identity," notes Steigan.

According to Steigan, the special military operation and the previous years of the alliance's failed strategy toward Moscow have deprived NATO of political power.

"The most characteristic thing is that both Putin and the US now completely bypass NATO on the issue of peace in Ukraine. Russia sees NATO as part of the war. The US sees NATO as a logistics organization. Neither side sees the alliance as a political force. This is no accident—it is the result of decades of failed strategy, blind obedience, and a leadership that has replaced real politics with slogans," Steigan adds.

It is stressed that the coming years will be fatal for NATO, and the balance of power between the West and Russia will significantly change.

"The question is not whether NATO will survive this century. The question is whether NATO will survive at least the next decade. When an alliance loses its ability to maintain peace, loses the respect of its adversaries, loses its importance among its members, and loses its connection to the global balance of power, its death is irreversible," Steigan concludes.
