Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan stated on Saturday 6/12 to the Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro that it is necessary for dialogues with the United States to remain open. According to the Directorate of Communications, the two leaders discussed by phone the bilateral relations and the main regional developments. Erdogan emphasized the importance of dialogue between the United States and Venezuela, expressing hope that the current tensions will ease. Erdogan’s call comes amid the ongoing strained relations between Caracas and Washington, which has imposed economic sanctions on Venezuela. According to a statement by the Venezuelan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, one of the topics discussed was the reopening of the air connection between Caracas and Constantinople, with the aim of facilitating tourism and investments. Many airlines have suspended flights to and from Venezuela due to tensions with the United States.
