Election integrity: Trump orders intelligence agencies to open 2020 files
FBI raids Fulton County election center in Georgia, seizing 2020 ballots as probe intensifies

President Donald Trump has issued a directive to the CIA and other intelligence agencies to hand over data regarding the 2020 elections to Kurt Olsen, according to reports from Politico and NBC News citing several—evidently panicked—US intelligence officials. This information is intended for Olsen, who is currently serving in a temporary capacity at the White House and was a prominent figure in the "Stop the Steal" campaign four years ago, seeking to determine if Joe Biden won the election through fraudulent means.

As a senior CIA official informed NBC via email, "The President has asked Mr. Olsen to review information pertaining to the 2020 election, and the agency is ensuring he has the required access to complete his work." The White House stated that President Trump possesses the authority to grant access to classified material to whomever he deems necessary and that "the entire Trump administration is collaborating to ensure election integrity in the US." There has been no clear answer as to whether Olsen will focus exclusively on the 2020 contest or on potential threats to future elections.

Evidence of 'stolen' ballots

This move follows a recent FBI raid on an election center in Fulton County, Georgia, where ballots from the 2020 election were seized. According to a search warrant application filed by FBI Special Agent Hugh Raymond Evans and recently unsealed, five categories of confirmed problems were identified in ballot management. This raises questions that have persisted for over five years following challenges by Trump and his associates regarding the results in Georgia and other swing states. The investigation was initiated following a referral from Kurt Olsen, who serves as Trump’s point man for election integrity.

Witness testimonies

Evans interviewed approximately a dozen anonymous witnesses regarding allegations of irregularities in the contentious Georgia race, where Joe Biden defeated Trump by fewer than 12,000 votes. The warrant application states that "the FBI investigation is part of a criminal inquiry into whether any irregularities were intentional and violated federal laws."

Fulton County has admitted that it does not possess scanned images of all 528,777 ballots counted during the initial tally, nor of the 527,925 ballots from the state's first recount. County officials also confirmed that during the recount, some ballots were scanned multiple times. Ballot images obtained through public record requests showed identical markings appearing in multiple scans. During the Risk Limiting Audit, manual counters reported total votes for batches that did not match the actual votes contained within those batches. According to the warrant application, "The State's Performance Review Board reported that Secretary of State investigators confirmed inaccurate batch counts from the Risk Limiting Audit."
