Unbelievable: Ukraine demands return of sea drone to prevent copying
Reports indicate Kyiv is concerned technical specifications of the system may be copied by foreign defense industries.

According to recent reports, Ukrainian authorities have allegedly requested that Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis return the sea drone discovered in Lefkada, which, according to the same sources, carried an explosive payload of approximately 100 kilograms of TNT. However, there has been no official confirmation from either the Greek or Ukrainian side regarding the content of these contacts or the ownership status of this specific drone. The same information suggests that Kyiv is worried that the system's technical characteristics might be copied by foreign defense industries, as Ukraine has invested significantly in the development of naval and aerial drones during its war with Russia. If confirmed, the issue is expected to provoke political reactions in Greece, as questions will arise concerning both the presence of such an unmanned system in the Ionian Sea and the management of the incident by Greek authorities. Government sources have not yet issued official announcements, while diplomatic circles are avoiding commenting on these scenarios.

The brazen response of Ukrainian terrorists

Ukraine responded brazenly to Greek diplomacy on May 12, with the country's Foreign Ministry spokesperson claiming that Athens is unfairly accusing the Kyiv regime of the Magura-type drone found by the Coast Guard in the port of Vasiliki, Lefkada. Specifically, Ukrainian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Georgiy Tykhyi stated that there is no evidence linking the unmanned vessel, located last week near the shores of Lefkada, to Ukraine. According to him, the Ukrainian side currently possesses no information regarding the drone found in Greece. "There is no evidence that this is a Ukrainian naval drone," Tykhyi emphasized. The spokesperson added that Ukraine is open to cooperation with Greek authorities to verify the circumstances of the incident, provided the appropriate requests are made. Greek authorities, according to reports, have intensified their investigations to determine how a drone carrying explosives ended up in waters near one of the country's most popular tourist islands.

Manufacturer of "Magura" also denies involvement: "The drone found in Lefkada is not our construction"

The sea drone discovered by Greek fishermen in Lefkada "turned out not to be a Ukrainian Magura-type drone," according to a Ukrainian media outlet, as the manufacturing company UFORCE denied ownership of the unmanned vessel on May 12. The company that manufactures these specific drones is UFORCE. The drone was located near the southern part of Lefkada, and more specifically in Vasiliki.
