Shocking GPO poll on Mitsotakis – ND collapses to 24%, 20.2% support Tsipras, Samaras’ role highlighted
A staggering 71.6% of Greeks want a change of government in the next elections.
Citizen dissatisfaction with the New Democracy (ND) government is reflected in the latest GPO poll, with the party’s voting intention plummeting to 24.4%. Meanwhile, 57.1% of respondents believe the country’s situation has worsened during Mitsotakis’ six-year tenure, and 71.6% want a different government to be elected in the next elections.
While government fatigue continues, speculation about the creation of new political parties by Alexis Tsipras and Antonis Samaras is causing ripples Samaras.
In fact, in the GPO poll conducted for the radio station Parapolitika 90.1 between 8–11 October, 20.2% said they would vote for a new party led by Tsipras, while 8.6% would support one led by Samaras.

Voting intention

ND maintains a lead of 11.2 percentage points, garnering 24.4% in voting intention (down from 24.8% in September), followed by PASOK at 13.2% (up from 11.2%).
Third place goes to Greek Solution with 9.9% (up from 8.7%), followed in fourth by Plefsi Eleftherias and the Communist Party (KKE) at 7.5% each.
SYRIZA records 4.6% (down from 5.2%), Foni Logikis 2.7%, Kinima Dimokratias 2.4%, KINI 2.2%, MeRA25 2.1%, and Nea Aristera 1.5%.
Notably, 7.4% say they would vote for “another party,” up from 3.9% in September.

Support for new parties

Tsipras Party: 20.2% of respondents (9.1% very likely, 11.1% fairly likely) said they would vote for a new party led by Alexis Tsipras.
Samaras Party: 8.6% (2.8% very likely, 5.8% fairly likely) said they would support a new party led by Antonis Samaras.
Regarding the political impact: 23.9% believe Tsipras’ new party could fill the opposition gap, and 19.8% believe the same for Samaras.
Additionally,40.5% think that if Tsipras forms a new party, SYRIZA–Progressive Alliance should merge with it, while 40.3% support SYRIZA continuing independently.
Also, 42.8% believe Nea Aristera should join Tsipras’ new formation.

PASOK:

51.2% support cooperation among progressive forces.

Dissatisfaction with the ND government

57.1% of citizens believe the country’s situation has worsened six years after Kyriakos Mitsotakis and ND took office, while 25.2% see an improvement. 71.6% want a change of government in the next elections, while only 26.4% expect the current government to continue for a third four-year term.
Finally, 44.8% support a coalition government, while 49.8% prefer a single-party government, even if repeated elections are required.
