The head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, publicly apologized to the Foundation for the Protection of Family and Tradition (SAPTK) pursuant to a court ruling, reports ERR.
“I, Kaja Kallas, in a publication dated 17 February 2022, disseminated false claims that attacks occurred against the Estonian police at the gathering organized by Varro Vooglaid and the SAPTK Foundation at Toompea, and that Varro Vooglaid and the EKRE party organized the gathering on 23 October 2021, at Freedom Square.
These claims are not true.”
According to ERR, the Supreme Court of Estonia refused to hear Kallas’s appeal regarding an alleged attack on government officials during a demonstration amid the coronavirus pandemic, thereby upholding previous decisions of county courts and regional courts.
These decisions required Kallas to partially retract the statements she made against EKRE MP Varro Vooglaid and the Foundation for the Protection of Family and Tradition (SAPTK).
