The European Union must finally wake up and be informed about the real situation prevailing on the front line in Ukraine, the Kremlin spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, conveyed in a harsh tone. He denounced that Brussels is currently attempting to speak to Moscow from a position of strength, relying on the illusion of a supposedly "weak" Russia. "It would be good for them to finally familiarize themselves with the real state of affairs, including the conflict in Ukraine," the Kremlin spokesman characteristically stated. At the same time, Dmitry Peskov clarified in an absolute manner the terms under which Moscow will accept to sit at the negotiating table, sending a clear message that the eras of western ultimatums have passed irrevocably: "If indeed forces appear in Europe that will understand the need to resume dialogue with Russia, not however to lecture us on morality or, even worse, to try to set ultimatums, but to start a real dialogue that implies two-way communication, then, of course, President Vladimir Putin and the Russian side will be open to it."
